The newly introduced Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy™ 9mm enhances the proven 1911 platform along with a double-stack capacity magazine. It includes both a 17+1 and 20+1 magazine, while an optional 26-rounder is also available. The Springfield Armory Prodigy™’s polymer grip is mounted to a forged steel frame, designed around a double-stack magazine, but slim enough for a comfortable grip on the pistol in a low-profile design. The high-impact polymer grip module has a wraparound Adaptive Grip Texture for positive tactile engagement in any conditions.
The Springfield Armory Prodigy™ is available with either a 4.25” or 5” bull barrel made of forged stainless steel with an 11-degree crown. The result is a 1911 pistol that offers match-grade accuracy and fast follow-up shots.
Adding to an already impressive lineup, the new Prodigy Springfield Armory 1911 pistol is enhanced, reconfigured and performance-driven while still keeping the most beloved characteristics of the classic 1911 pistol. The 1911 DS Prodigy™ also comes optics-ready with the AOS (Agency Optic System), has an ambidextrous safety, and features a Picatinny rail for lights or laser options.
In collaboration with Agency Arms, the Springfield Armory Prodigy™ uses exclusively-designed AOS (Agency Optic System) plates. Each machined billet steel plate is optimized for the proper optic height, allowing an intuitive sight picture, and instant target acquisition, and features an integral rear sight. The 1911 DS Prodigy™ comes with a HEX Dragonfly-compatible plate, while additional optic-specific plates are available for purchase.
Depending on the model and optional features selected, the new Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy™ has an MSRP ranging from $1,499 to $1,699.
