At the Ruger Firearms Booth during the NRA 2023 Convention, Brandon gives us a rundown of Ruger’s new gun release: the brand-new Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite. The Mark IV has been around for a few years, it evolved from the original Ruger standard auto and is a flagship product for Ruger Firearms.
The Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite features a 1911-style grip frame with the same grip angle, and it has a five 1/2-inch barrel. The Lite indicates that there is an aluminum upper receiver with a tensioned pencil barrel in there. The 22/45 Lite is a nice lightweight training pistol and an accurate target pistol. And, of course, It’s a lot of fun to shoot! The Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite in 22 caliber comes with a 10-round 22 caliber magazine.
The newly introduced top rail is a notable addition to the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite. It resembles a ventilated rib and replaces the previous Picatinny rail. This 22 caliber pistol features a rear sight that can be adjusted to fit your needs, a front sight with fiber optics, and a mounting pattern that accommodates red dot sights. It’s compatible with JPoint shield pattern sights, a popular type of sight made by various companies that can be easily mounted onto the pistol. This allows for co-witnessing with your existing sights, providing a valuable training and usage option for the red dot sight.
Most of the Mark IV 22/45 Lite have a threaded barrel and a thread protector so that you can add a suppressor.
The 22/45 Lite comes in various configurations, including a new pattern for 2023. The catalog showcases a wide range of patterns and colors, offering numerous options in the Mark IV family. These models are available in stainless, blue, heavy, taper, and light barrels, among others. The variety of grips and price points add to the assortment of choices available to customers.
