Mike Humphries, media relations manager for Springfield Armory, shows us the new Saint Victor 9mm Carbine. One of the most significant features of the Saint Victor are in the name, it’s a 9mm. This is Springfield Armory’s first pistol caliber carbine based on the Saint Victor line of rifles. At its core, the Saint Victor 9mm Carbine has a dedicated upper and lower receiver designed specifically for the 9mm. The magwell is designed specifically to accept a 9mm size magazine in the upper receiver. The 9mm Carbine has a shortened ejection port, a shortened ejection port door cover, a shell deflector move forward and no forward assist. Internally the gun is very simple, very straightforward. Unlike a standard AR in 556 that has direct gas impingement system and a relatively complicated rotating bolt system, this is a direct blowback gun with a fixed bolt head. The gun is very robust, very reliable, simple, straightforward and works great. Overall features of the Saint Victor 9mm Carbine are a B five systems Bravo stock, a V five systems type 23 P grip pistol grip, a free float handguard and topping off the muzzle we have a Springfield Armory forward blast diverter also topping off the gun are flip up sights that come standard.
