Brett Gillan with GunBroker.com talking with Cody Osborne at Taurus with something a little unique and the first of its kind, the Taurus Defender 605 + 856 T.O.R.O. Optics Ready Defensive Revolver. Cool and innovative, Taurus launched the executive grade 856 to really get in tune with the hardcore revolver shooters, the key things they keep asking for are red dots on small frame defensive revolvers, so here it is.
We launched the 856, which is a six shot 38 Special plus speed and then we have the 605 also, a five shot 357, same frame size, and 3” barrel but the big thing is this proprietary mounting system that we created so it has an optic plate system that will take the Holosun K footprint optics, added to the small fame. The Taurus Defender is designed to work with any of the k footprint optics, Holosun, Shield RMSc some of the Bushnell’s, there are so many optics out there that fit that footprint, it allows you to mount really low. It allows you to mount really low. We have a really nice posts so you can get a lot of thread engagement on the Taurus Defender, there’s not a whole lot of mass coming back into it too, it gives you the capabilities now of having the small frame defensive revolver with red dot so you can stay target focused, down range, to improve the performance of your shooting.
If you like performance and you want to get out and push your boundaries and you like revolvers, here it is, the Taurus Defender 605 + 856 T.O.R.O. Optics Ready Defensive Revolver. There’s a large crowd of people who get out there and shoot red dots so they can see what could happen, it’s great you know, and why not bring that over to the revolver world and push it forward.
