The biggest story wasn’t the top spot but the consolidation of modern defensive pistols among the category leaders. Four of the Top 5 positions were occupied by models commonly carried for personal protection.





One of May’s biggest stories came in the revolver category, where the Ruger New Model Blackhawk climbed from No. 3 to capture the top position.
The Ruger Vaquero made one of the largest jumps of any firearm in the report, rising from No. 18 to No. 4. Meanwhile, the Smith & Wesson Model 10surged from No. 31 all the way to No. 5, signaling renewed interest in classic service revolvers.





The Marlin Model 60 delivered one of the month’s most notable climbs, moving from No. 3 to become the top-ranked used semi-auto rifle.
