MG 15 German 1930 | Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot 2023

Chip from Tucson Arizona, shares the German MG 15 from the 1930’s at the Big Sandy Machine Gun Shoot 2023. The German MG 15 is a curio and relic original German gun made in the 30s designed by the Germans and used in World War II, the open bolt fires 1000 rounds a minute. Originally it was used in their fighter bombers and once they went to their version of the 50 Cal round, they pulled these out of the fighter bombers, and they put them into a ground role adding ground sights so that you can engage targets on the ground and still adjust for fire, and the shroud so that you could put a bipod on it, so you can shoot off the ground. There were two versions of the MG 15, an air cooled and water cooled version that fires from 75 Round drums are very difficult to load so when the Germans ran out of ammunition, they just left the magazines and the guns and ran. The German MG 15 is not common in the US and more common in the air cooled version than the water cooler version.
