Shotguns of 2024; What to Consider - GunBroker.com

There were quite a few of the most versatile firearm introduced at SHOT 2024. And these shotguns ranged from semi-autos to side-by-sides.

Shotguns are extremely versatile firearms. In fact, shotguns just might be the best single-gun option in the world. These guns excel in almost every shooting discipline, from hunting to self-defense. This is probably why there are so many different variants and models available to shooters. It is also why there were numerous shotguns introduced at SHOT in 2024.

Sure, quite a few were new versions of previous models; manufacturers trying to give shooters what they want, which, of course, varies person to person. In any case, firearm manufacturers continue to produce both activity-specific and all-around shotguns. Here are some of the most interesting shotguns available for 2024.

American Tactical Road Agent

Harking back to the old days, when side-by-side shotguns were the norm, American Tactical has introduced the Road Agent. The 12-gauge, side-by-side shotgun looks and feels similar to the shotguns of old, but with some modern improvements. To start, it features 18-inch barrels, 3-inch chambers and double triggers. It even has a wood stock and forend and deeply blued barrels. However, the Road Agent comes with an aluminum receiver and interchangeable chokes. Altogether, shooters get to have modernized old gun.

Benelli Montefeltro Ultra Light

During long days in the field, weight matters; it can be tiresome carrying a heavy shotgun all day long. Benelli has made that a little bit easier with the Montefeltro Ultra Light. This semi-auto shotgun starts with Benelli’s Inertia Driven system that can handle both light and heavy loads. It also comes with a walnut stock and forend with a satin finish, while the receiver is black anodized and the barrel blued. To reduce weight, Benelli shortened the barrels (26 inches for 12 and 24 for 20) and used a carbon-fiber rib. It also shortened the magazine, but it can be extended when needed. All this brings the weight of the 12 gauge down to 6.3 pounds, with an additional pound dropped with the 20. It also makes the shotgun easy to shoulder and swing, as well as carry all day.

Tokarev TTF Titan Shotgun

Semi-auto shotguns are fast and provide lighter recoil. Unfortunately, they’re also usually expensive, especially for gas guns. That has changed with the Tokarev TTF Titan. This 12-gauge semi-auto shotgun lists for less than $200, meaning it will probably sell for a little less. Now, this shotgun does not come with tons of features; it’s bare bones for sure with a black polymer stock, a black-anodized aluminum barrel and a white-dot front sight. It even is only available with a fixed cylinder bore choke. However, this shotgun is customizable with a receiver that’s drilled and tapped for aftermarket sights and rails, and it is compatible with Mossberg 500/590 stocks.
