2025 New Sound Suppressors Introductions: Curiously Quiet, Crazy Cool | SHOT SHOW 2025. | GUNBROKER

Sound suppressors used to be exotic, sinister and rare. Nowadays they’re ubiquitous, at least in the 42 free states that trust their own citizens. Whether you’re a cop, a hunter or just somebody who enjoys quietly punching holes in things, the inimitable engine that is capitalism offers a plethora of curiously covert options. There’s plenty of fresh new stuff on the market these days. The breadth of innovation is fascinating.

Inland PM-22

Sound Suppressors - Inland PM-22

Amidst a crowded market for rimfire sound suppressors, Inland has taken a fresh new approach. What separates the truly unusual from the “also-ran” is typically size and weight. The challenge is always balancing compact size and light weight against durability and performance.

The new Inland PM-22 rimfire suppressor is 5.5-inches overall and just under 1 inch in diameter. Weighing a paltry 3.5 ounces, the PM-22 one of the lightest suppressors on the market today. How it gets there is unique in the modern suppressor world.

The Inland PM-22 sports an aluminum tube and stainless-steel base threaded 1/2 x 28. However, the I-Core polymer monolithic baffle system weighs about nothing and is actually disposable. Thanks to some weird federal firearms laws, the core has to be exchanged by the manufacturer. However, the end result is unprecedented weight reduction. The X Baffle system can be used dry or with dB Foam ablative suppressor material for maximum performance. The PM-22 is also just stupid cheap.

  • Caliber: .22 Rimfire
  • Weight: 3.5 ozs.
  • Overall length: 5.5″
  • Diameter: 1″
  • Construction: Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Polymer
  • MSRP: $189.00

Yankee Hill Machine VICTRA-12

Yankee Hill Machine VICTRA-12

You can’t swing a dead cat at your local range without hitting a sound-suppressed firearm these days. The American shooting public has discovered the many salient benefits of these delightful things, and the scourge of Bidenomics has taken some of the teeth out of the onerous transfer tax. In the Yankee Hill Machine VICTRA-12, however, we find something refreshingly different.

The Yankee Hill Machine VICTRA-12 is a rugged, modular sound suppressor designed for use on the 12-gauge shotgun. User-configurable to be either 6, 8, 10 or 12 inches in length based upon the bolts around which it is assembled, the VICTRA-12 can be optimized for either stealth or portability. The VICTRA-12 is mil-spec rugged at a reasonable price point given what goes into it.

The Victra-12 mounts using a shotgun’s standard choke threads. Chokes can actually be swapped within the suppressor as desired. The VICTRA-12 ships with an Improved Cylinder version. Full and Modified chokes are in the pipeline. Available mounts are compatible with popular host shotguns including Remington, Mossberg, Browning and Winchester, as well as Beretta and Benelli among others.

  • Caliber: 12-gauge
  • Weight: 25 ozs.
  • Max Length: 12.4″
  • Height/Width: 2.7 x 1.95″
  • Construction: 7075 Aluminum and 17-4 PH Stainless Steel
  • MSRP: $959.95

SilencerCo Specwar 762

SilencerCo Specwar 762

Conventional wisdom is that sound suppressors should be lightweight and compact. This obviously makes the resulting suppressed firearm easier to carry and more maneuverable in tight spaces. However, reductions in weight and volume always come at the cost of theoretical durability and/or performance. As an intellectual exercise, SilencerCo, one of the leading producers of top-quality sound suppressors in America, followed that path but in the opposite direction. The end result is more rugged than an Abrams tank and really doesn’t much care about rates of fire or barrel length.

The Specwar 762 is built around a Cobalt 6 baffle stack that is essentially indestructible. The 17-4 stainless-steel tube is corrosion-resistant and comparably rugged. This beast of a can will service anything you might reasonably run through it, though 300 BLK is its forte. There aren’t a great many bells and whistles, because there don’t need to be. The Specwar 762 is a big, tough, mean battle tank of a can.

The Specwar 762 is 8-inches long and weighs 22.5 ounces. The tube is fully 1.5 inches in diameter. It will accept all of the standard SilencerCo mounts, so you can easily use the one can across a variety of platforms.

  • SKU: SU5603
  • Caliber: .223 REM/5.56 NATO through .300 RUM
  • Weight: 22.5 ozs.
  • Length: 8″
  • Diameter: 1.5″
  • Construction: 17-4 SS and Cobalt 6
  • MSRP: $999

SilencerCo Omega Spectre 9K

SilencerCo Omega Spectre 9K

SilencerCo’s Spectre9 is an all-welded, maintenance-free, pistol-caliber can that is already pretty tiny. The Spectre 9K is even tinier. If you’re looking for something that takes up minimal space, weighs about nothing and still excises the bark out of your favorite handgun, then look no further. The Spectre 9K looks like a movie prop and runs like a lawyer after money.

The Spectre 9 is built specifically to accommodate 9mm and 300 BLK. Stick with semi-auto fire for supersonic 300 BLK, but subsonic 300 BLK and any sorts of 9mm fodder are fine on rock and roll. It’s even cleared for operation on full auto 9mm GLOCKS. SilencerCo offers a wide array of mounting solutions ranging from piston mounts for a Nielsen device up to standard HK 3-lug rigs.

The Spectre 9K is only 3.69-inches long and weighs a paltry 3.17 ounces. That’s not markedly heavier than three standard 1st class letters. As the can is fully welded, it requires no maintenance beyond the occasional wipe-down. I have personally used the larger Spectre 9 on a variety of combat pistols and submachine guns and have yet to have a hiccup. More voluminous cans may be a bit quieter, but the Spectre 9K still does a great job of blunting the chaos. It is also small and light enough that you can just about forget it is there.

  • Caliber: 9mm and 300BLK
  • Weight: 3.17 ozs.
  • Length: 3.69″
  • Diameter: 1.37″
  • Construction: Ti Grade 5 and Ti Grade 9
  • MSRP: $879

SilencerCo S98

SilencerCo S98

The SilencerCo S98 is a dedicated 9mm handgun suppressor that is optimized for tactical handguns. Featuring welded titanium construction and a compact chassis that is exceptionally lightweight, the S98 adds very little bulk and mass to the host weapon. It is also an eccentric design that retains access to the pistol’s sights. A clutch system allows the can to be indexed in place once it is cinched down.

The S98 is easy to carry and easy to mount. Featuring a state-of-the-art baffle stack and combat-driven particulars, the S98 will blunt the bark from your gun and look fabulous doing it. The S98 is laser-focused on making your typical 9mm combat handgun into something so much better.

  • Caliber: 9mm
  • Weight: 7 ozs.
  • Length: 5.54″
  • Diameter: 1.25×1.625″
  • Construction: Ti Grade 5 and 17-4 stainless steel
  • MSRP: $1,269

AAC Illusion 9

Advanced Armament Company Illusion 9

Modern sound suppressors incorporate more advanced materials science and engineering than the SpaceX Falcon Heavy. In the AAC Illusion 9, we see 17-4 stainless steel and 7075 aluminum used for durability and light weight. The eccentric bore helps you see the sights. The end result reflects the state of the art.

One of the perennial challenges involved in designing a centerfire pistol suppressor is keeping the sights clear. Most any conventional sound suppressor will be big enough to occlude the pistol’s aiming apparatus. You can still aim such a piece, but it is a bit akin to using the Force. The Advanced Armament Corporation Illusion 9 is designed with the bore offset so that most of the can’s volume falls below the bore axis of the host handgun. For a typical GLOCK pistol, this feature keeps the sights unimpeded in action. The Illusion 9 is also easily maintained, so cleaning isn’t a challenge.

  • Caliber: 9mm
  • Weight: 10.4 ozs.
  • Length: 7.88″
  • Diameter: 1.25″
  • Construction: 17-4 stainless steel and 6061/7075 aluminum
  • MSRP: $849.99

AAC Ranger 5 Mini

Advanced Armament Company Ranger 5 Mini

Sound suppressor performance in the real world bears little similarity to what we see in the movies. That Foley artist mouse fart sound isn’t actually real. The true purpose of a modern sound suppressor is to take enough of the edge off of a gun’s report to allow you to preserve your hearing if you use the gun for real. It also makes you a more neighborly shooter. As a result, there is a healthy market for ultra-compact suppressors that tame modern tactical rifles into something other than fire-belching monsters.

The Ranger 5 Mini employs an oversize baffle to cut down on back pressure while retaining noise reduction. This compact suppressor is full auto-rated and purpose-designed for modern sporting rifles. The Ranger 5 Mini is also 1.375 HUB-compatible, so you can use it with variety of common muzzle devices.

  • Caliber: 6mm Creedmoor and Below
  • Weight: 9.84 ozs.
  • Length: 4.98″
  • Diameter: 1.5″
  • Construction: Inconel 718 and 17-4 stainless steel
  • MSRP: $849.99

CMMG Defcan-762

CMMG Defcan-762

While we’ve all been occupied binge-watching rubbish on Netflix, modern industrial manufacturing techniques have been advancing at light speed. Where traditional suppressor manufacturing has involved massive CNC lathes, nowadays, folks are actually churning these things out using industrial 3D printers. The CMMG Defcan-762 is 3D-printed out of Inconel. The end result is radically effective and comparably exotic.

3-D printed Inconel construction offers exceptional durability and heat tolerance. The .30-caliber bore means you can use this can on anything from .22 rimfire up to 7.62x51mm NATO. The Defcan-762 comes with a Zeroed SVD Muzzle Brake. It will also mount up via a standard mil-spec A2 flash hider. The Defcan 7.62 is 1.375 HUB-compatible as well.

  • Caliber: 7.62x51mm NATO
  • Weight: 22.3 ozs.
  • Length: 8.5″
  • Diameter: 1.57″
  • Construction: Inconel
  • MSRP: $999.95

B&T Print-XH RBS SC(Ti)

B&T Print-XH RBS SC(Ti)

A Swiss company that first began producing shooting products back in 1991, Brugger and Thomet (aka B&T) is now a world leader in sound suppressor technology. Their B&T Print-XH RBS SC(Ti) is one of the most high-tech sound suppressors on Earth. Incorporating an Inconel blast baffle along with B&T’s Reduced Backpressure System to minimize gas blowback, the Print-XH RBS SC(Ti) is meticulously crafted to offer high performance in a package that is both tiny and lightweight. The low-flash endcap keeps things stealthy.

In addition to class-defining design, the Print-XH RBS SC(Ti) is crafted out of weldless 3D-printed titanium. This allows unparalleled strength for weight along with meticulous architecture that would not be possible with more conventional manufacturing techniques. The Type-2 anodized finish is robust and looks cool to boot. The Print-XH RBS SC(Ti) is full auto rated with no barrel length restrictions.

  • Caliber: 5.56mm NATO
  • Weight: 8.5 ozs.
  • Length: 5″
  • Diameter: 1.7″
  • Construction: Titanium
  • MSRP: $1050

Troy Kryptos

Troy Kryptos

The Troy Kryptos 5.56mm suppressor is as rugged as Superman’s jockstrap and packed with practical features. Not meaning to sound like a pansy, but anyone who has ever run a suppressed rifle extensively will attest that all that added weight at the end of the gun can wear you out over time. The Troy Kryptos 5.56 is a telescoped, over-the-barrel design that only adds four inches to your rifle’s overall length. Constructed of 17-4 and 304 stainless steel, the Kryptos is full-auto-rated and built to be punished.

The patented baffle system is aerospace welded and features a shared-chamber baffle design. This system negates the need for a separate tube and makes the entire unit lighter as a result. By maximizing internal volume, the Kryptos also offers best-in-class sound reduction with minimal blowback. The Kryptos quickly attaches to the TROY Muzzle Device and is Cerakote finished.

  • Caliber: 5.56mm NATO
  • Weight: 18 ozs.
  • Length: 6.5″
  • Diameter: 1.65″
  • Construction: 17-4 and 304 Stainless Steel
  • MSRP: $1200

Bushmaster Firearms MUTA II BM556

Bushmaster Firearms MUTA II BM556

The MUTA II BM556 from Bushmaster Firearms is a 3D-printed Inconel design that combines accuracy and performance with compact size and durability. This centerfire suppressor is optimized for use on modern sporting rifles. It offers a 14.0 percent reduction at the left ear, a 15.4 percent reduction at the muzzle and a 15.9 percent reduction at the right ear. A threaded front cap and removable baffles allow for easy access and servicing.

The MUTA II is full-auto-rated and is designed with accuracy in mind. Exceptionally tight tolerances offer a minimal and repeatable point-of-impact shift. This direct-thread can will fit on most any 5.56mm host.

  • Weight: 12.25 ozs.
  • Length: 5.65″
  • Diameter: 1.815″
  • Construction: Inconel 635
  • MSRP: $709.95

Silencer Central Banish 9K

Silencer Central has revolutionized the suppressor industry through their streamlined, home-based buying process. Along the way, they also started producing some mighty fine sound suppressors. The Banish 9K is their newest 9mm handgun can.

3D-printed out of titanium, the Banish 9K is compact, lightweight and effective. It is designed to offer everything you need in a combat pistol can without the fluff you don’t. Additionally, at a simply breathtaking 2.7 ounces, the Banish 9K is intended to function on short-recoil autoloading pistols without a Nielsen device. Just thread it in place and hit the range.

The Banish 9K is full-auto-rated for subsonic 300BLK and below. Tiny cans are not as quiet as larger ones, but you can legit forget this one is there. If there’s a pistol suppressor out there that is smaller and lighter, I have yet to encounter it.

  • Caliber: 9mm Para through 300BLK
  • Weight: 2.7 ozs.
  • Length: 4.1″
  • Diameter: 1.3″
  • Construction: Titanium
  • MSRP: $699

Banish MeatEater

Banish MeatEater

Aside from having a truly epic name, the Banish MeatEater is also a superb addition to your favorite hunting rifle. Featuring titanium construction and light weight, the MeatEater adds very little to your burden when out humping the boonies. A standard HUB mount offers great versatility. That way a single suppressor can be used across several platforms.

Interchangeable nose caps minimize the exit pupil for a desired caliber to maximize suppression. They can also help mitigate felt recoil. A reversible spacer built into the end cap allows you to actually turn the muzzle brake on or off depending upon the circumstances. That’s pretty darn neat. The Banish MeatEater lets you drag your traditional hunting rifle into the modern age.

  • Caliber: .300 RUM
  • Weight: 10.3 ozs.
  • Length: 5.85″
  • Diameter: 1.73″
  • Construction: Titanium
  • MSRP: $1299

JK Armament JK155 VERSAX 9mm

JK Armament JK155 VERSAX 9mm

JK Armament offers a wide array of top-quality sound suppressors for rifles, pistols, rimfires and scatterguns. Their product line is well-reasoned and innovative. Their pistol suppressors in particular employ a modular baffle system that can be made longer or shorter as the mission dictates. What recently caught my eye, however, was a pair of really unusual suppressor hosts they had at their booth at the SHOT show. The JK155 VERSAX 9mm formed the foundation.

The first was a sound-suppressed, gold-plated Desert Eagle. The mad scientists at JK Armament started out with a long-barreled Deagle and then cut the tube back before threading it for a can. That thing looked as cool as Steve McQueen circa 1968. However, the real draw was a threaded and suppressed single-shot black powder percussion pistol.

The JK guys explained that you had to remove the can to load the gun, but that it actually worked. I cannot imagine the cleaning chores afterward, but, among some 2,700 exhibitors at this year’s show, this setup was certainly unique. JK Armament clearly represents outside-the-box innovation.

  • Caliber: 9mm Para through 300BLK
  • Weight: Max 8.9 ozs.
  • Length: Max 7.4″
  • Diameter: 1.55″
  • Construction: 7075 Billet Aluminum
  • MSRP: $525

Carbon Research CR9 Multican

Carbon Research CR9 Multican

Carbon fiber is arguably the most revolutionary material of the modern age. Carbon fiber exhibits a tensile strength of between 670,000 and 820,000 pounds per square inch. That’s up to 10 times the strength of steel at a markedly lower weight. To put that in perspective, a cylinder of carbon fiber half an inch across will theoretically lift an M1 Abrams main battle tank off of the ground. It follows that somebody would eventually build a sound suppressor out of this amazing stuff.

The Carbon Research CR9 Multican combines Kevlar, titanium and carbon fiber to produce a full auto-rated sound suppressor for the Information Age. It will even run supersonic .300 BLK on rock and roll. The can comes with a direct thread mount, but it also accepts a Nielsen device for reliable operation on Browning-style handguns. Amidst a sea of advanced sound suppressors, the CR9 Multican is refreshingly different.

  • Caliber: 9mm Para through 300BLK
  • Weight: 6.5 ozs.
  • Length: 8″
  • Diameter: 1.3″
  • Construction: Carbon Fiber, Titanium, and Kevlar
  • MSRP: $1299

HUXWRX Flow 556

2025 New Sound Suppressors Introductions Curiously Quiet, Crazy Cool - HUXWRX Flow 556

The HUXWRX Flow 556 is a 3D-printed suppressor that incorporates proprietary flow-through technology. By definition, a sound suppressor captures the hot gas that would otherwise escape out of the muzzle, slowing and cooling that noxious stuff until it doesn’t make so much racket. The downside to all that, particularly when mounted on a direct gas-impingement rifle, is that all that chaos gets redirected back toward the shooter. The Flow 556 is designed to address that.

A true multi-caliber design, the Flow 556 delivers superior toxic fume mitigation, flash reduction, sound diminution, recoil reduction, accuracy and repeatability via its unique helical coil and core deflector design. It is full-auto rated and compatible with 5.56, .17 HMR and 5.7 platforms. The patented Torque Lock toolless locking system makes mounting via a HUXWRX QD muzzle device a snap.

  • Caliber: 9mm Para through 300BLK
  • Weight: 12.9 ozs.
  • Length: 5.5″
  • Diameter: 1.6″
  • Construction: 17-4 Stainless Steel
  • MSRP: $1,306

Dead Air Sandman X

Dead Air Sandman X

The Dead Air Sandman X is 10 years old this year. To commemorate, Dead Air is redesigning an upgrade to their foundational rifle can. The Sandman X still brings all of the traditional performance you might expect from such an established design. However, the new Sandman X substantially decreases backpressure, helping to keep noxious gas out of the shooter’s face.

The Sandman X can be had in multiple configurations. It also accepts Dead Air HUB adapters to include KeyMo, Xeno and direct thread systems. 3D-printed manufacturing allows for a complex internal structure that maximizes both efficiency and effectiveness. The end result is exceptionally lightweight and rugged. It is even rated for full-auto fire out of 7.62mm guns. Interchangeable front caps can be optimized for the mission.

  • Caliber: .300 RUM
  • Weight: 16.8 ozs.
  • Length: 6.9″
  • Diameter: 1.65″
  • Construction: Haynes 282 Superalloy
  • MSRP: $999-1,059

The Optimus 6 includes a High Flow Baffle Stack, as well as a Flash-Killer end cap for maximum stealth and shooter comfort. A large 1.75-inch tube offers increased internal volume over comparable cans. The Optimus 6 can be had in either FDE or Basic Black. It will be available Spring of 2025.

  • Caliber: 6mm ARC
  • Weight: TBA
  • Length: TBA
  • Diameter: 1.75″
  • Construction: 17-4 Stainless Steel

Angstadt Arms Prophet

Angstadt Arms Prophet

The Angstadt Arms Prophet represents a brilliant new approach to suppressing your modern sporting rifle. The Prophet is a two-part suppression system that consists of a ported, 16-inch AR15 barrel along with a removable .46-caliber sound suppressor. The 16-inch barrel means you don’t need to register your rifle as an SBR. The suppressor operates via the barrel ports, so it doesn’t add any extraneous length to the overall gun. The .46-caliber can is also removable for use on other firearms as well. By mixing and matching mounts, the Prophet can be used on handguns up to .45 ACP in addition to the aforementioned rifle applications.

An industry-standard HUB mount makes mounting a snap. Direct thread, piston mounts and QD rigs are all on the table. The barrel-through design also minimizes gas blowback. The Prophet from Angstadt Arms is a truly innovative can. The custom-ported barrel is sold separately for $265.

  • Caliber: .45ACP/.458 SOCOM and Smaller
  • Weight: 6.89 ozs.
  • Length: 6.78″
  • Diameter: 1.75″
  • Construction: Grade 5 Titanium
  • MSRP: $895

Dillon Aero Hush Kit

Dillon Aero is the same company that supplies the free world’s militaries with all of those delightful M134D electrically powered Gatling guns. Tragically, normal folks like us will likely never even touch one. However, their new line of sound suppressors is available for law-abiding civilians. The approach they take to the timeless problem of noisy guns is revolutionary.

They call it the Hush Kit. This all started when Dillon developed a sound suppressor module for their 6-barreled miniguns. They then translated this technology into something more portable. By utilizing additive manufacturing/3D-printing, the Dillon guys have created a sound suppressor that has a microporous surface.

They call this P.I.P. Technology. P.I.P. stands for Purposely Induced Porosity. In practice, this simply means that the can is designed with a series of tiny little microscopic vents around its circumference. This feature reduces back pressure while also mitigating visible signature. It also looks just super cool.

Hush kits are currently available for 5.56mm and .50BMG. Kits for 9mm and 7.62mm are in the pipeline. Standard HUB mounts enhance versatility. These cans are, naturally, full-auto rated. Dillon Aero doesn’t seem to shoot any other way.

  • Caliber: .50 BMG
  • Weight: 2.7 lbs.
  • Length: 11.75″
  • Diameter: 2.625″
  • Construction: Titanium
  • MSRP: $3500

Surefire SOCOM556-RC3

Surefire has established itself as a major supplier of sound suppressors to the US military. As a result of their extensive experience with government contracts, Surefire now offers some of the toughest, most effective cans in the world. Their newest is the SOCOM556-RC3

The SOCOM556-RC3 is the ultimate combat suppressor.
